Q: The functions of Selenocysteine (SEC)/MSC, are there any sources or proofs of the report?

A: Naturally occurring organoselenium compounds are found in many plants, including garlic, onions, and broccoli, with potential antioxidant and chemopreventive activities. Se-methyl-seleno-L-cysteine (MSC) is an amino acid analogue of cysteine in which a methylselenium moiety replaces the sulphur atom of cysteine. This agent acts as an antioxidant when incorporated into glutathione peroxidase and has been shown to exhibit potent chemo-preventive activity in animal models.

Se-methyl-seleno-L-cysteine (MSC) appears to be unique in terms of its ability to protect against carcinogenesis as well as selectively target existing cancer cells and synergize with other cancer therapies, while protecting normal tissues from the cytotoxic effects of those treatments.

Se-methyl-seleno-L-cysteine (MSC) offers selective protection against organ-specific toxicity induced by clinically active agents and enhances further antitumor activity, resulting in improved therapeutic index and also as selective modulator of the antitumor activity and selectivity of anticancer drugs.

The main anticancer functions are:

Q: What is the dosage for non-cancer treatment user?

A: One tablet per day as a standard dosage to begin with, especially for people who are selenium deficient due to poor diet or disease. They can switch to half tablet per day after one or two months, when their body selenium levels return to normal. Look for increased size of white moons in the fingernails, as a sign of return to good health, to show that it is working.
